VANCOUVER BIA WEEK - APRIL 8TH to 14th, 2024

This year we're excited to celebrate 35 years of BIAs and local businesses that make Vancouver neighbourhoods the places that we love to eat, shop, play and be in!  

We are inspired by the strength and resilience of merchants and the shop local support throughout the city.  The collaboration between business, community and government sectors, has been invaluable to help businesses and business areas adapt to economic challenges, and come out stronger together.

VANCOUVER BIA WEEK CONTEST! 

Enter to win over $350 in prizes, including gift cards from a business area in Vancouver, and prizes from Evo, MOBI, and Translink to explore the city! You’ll get to choose the business area from participating BIAs, and enjoy all things local! 

To enter, use the hashtag #VANCOUVERBIAWEEK on an Instagram post between April 8th to 14th.

For every entry, up to 350, $1 will be donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.  For every dollar they receive, they are able to purchase three dollars' worth of nutritious food.

ABOUT BIAs

Did you know there's 22 BIAs in Vancouver alone, with over 60 all over BC? The first BIAs started in 1989 which were Gastown, Mount Pleasant and Downtown Vancouver.

Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) are specially funded business districts managed by non-profit groups of property owners and business tenants whose goal is to promote and improve their business district.  A BIA can make things better by enhancing and promoting the area in result making the area safer, beautiful, vibrant, and more connected. 

The Vancouver BIA Partnership, representing 22 BIAs across the City, diligently advocates on behalf of small businesses and communities.  We also collaborate on citywide promotional campaigns including Open with Care, Stock Joy, Love Your City and much more.
