This year we're excited to celebrate 32 years of BIAs and local businesses that make Vancouver neighbourhoods the places that we love to eat, shop, play and be in!
We are inspired by the strength and resilience of merchants and the shop local support over the past year. The collaboration between business, community and government sectors, has been invaluable to help businesses and business areas adapt and come out stronger.
This month, various BIAs across the City will be planning take-out and pick-up events to support local eateries and other businesses impacted by pandemic restrictions.

PRIZE DRAW AND FUNDRAISER!
There are 22 BIAs in Vancouver filled with fantastic restaurants, pubs and cafes. The owners and staff are at the heart of the businesses that feed our soul. During the pandemic and with recent restrictions, it’s been a challenging time for many, and we're dedicated to highlighting the shops in our area and ways to support them.
For BIA Week 2021, in the spirit of support and strength, we've put together a fun contest for a good cause.
ENTER HERE to win a "Take-Out/Pick-Up" prize package of gift cards from Vancouver eateries, valued at up to $550! To be eligible to win, fill out the entry form and follow any 5 Vancouver BIAs on Instagram.
For every entry, $1 will be donated to Mind the Bar. The Mind the Bar Foundation provides valuable mental health resources and support for the hospitality industry. This industry is an integral part of each of the 22 BIAs and our goal is to raise $2,200.
Entering the prize draw is free, and you'll be helping us reach our donation goal too!
Did you know there's 22 BIAs in Vancouver alone, with over 60 all over BC? The first BIAs started in 1989 which were Gastown, Mount Pleasant and Downtown Vancouver.
Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) are specially funded business districts managed by non-profit groups of property owners and business tenants whose goal is to promote and improve their business district. A BIA can make things better by enhancing and promoting the area in result making the area safer, beautiful, vibrant, and more connected.
The Vancouver BIA Partnership, representing 22 BIAs across the City, diligently advocates on behalf of small businesses and communities. We also collaborate on citywide promotional campaigns including Open with Care, Gift Big Shop Small, Love Your City and much more.
